Details from event's RunSignUp.com listing:
Circles of Love is a free South East Idaho community run & walk memorial event and fundraiser.
Time: Friday, 7pm September 13th to 3pm Saturday 14th (20 hours)
Location: Jensen’s Grove Park in Blackfoot, ID at the pavilion by the basketball court.
Purpose: This is a walking and running memorial event for those who have lost a loved one in early adulthood and specifically to support the Thornley family who recently lost their daughter, Abigail, in a car accident.
Every lap around the lake symbolizes love and support for those who are grieving and in remembrance of those who have passed on, all too soon. Positive thoughts, energy, and prayers are encouraged during the event.
Donations will go to fund the event and all additional proceeds will be donated to Blackfoot High School Drama in Abigail's name.
Details:
- The route mapped out here is 1.8 miles. Representing those who have passed on too soon after reaching the age of 18.
- The event will be 20 hours long to represent Abigail Thornley and her 20 magical years.
- Show up anytime during the 20 hours to walk or run. You do not need to go the full 20 hours.
- We will encourage everyone to start on the hour and those out running/walking during the event to try to time things to be back at the start of each hour so everyone starts each hour together.
- This is all paved and you will be starting each loop going next to the parking and entrance/exit area. Participants will be asked to wear bright clothing and at night something reflective along with a light.
- There are lamp posts around the loop and parking lot light posts so the area will be well-lit.
- Anyone walking/running will need to sign up on this site.
- Registration is free, and donations are encouraged.
