Join us for the 2024 Schechter on the Move 5K Color Run and 1 Mile Color Fun Run, managed by Blue Cheetah Sports Timing. Your participation helps support the Krieger Schechter Day School! We can't wait to see you at this annual event that brings our community together for a day of fitness and fun. All proceeds from the race will support the KSDS Scholarship Fund.

**NEW FOR 2024**

We are thrilled to host our first-ever themed race! Join us for a Color Run! Throughout the course, runners will be doused from head to toe in colored powder. It's like running through a giant rainbow tunnel!

This year, we are also excited to announce a new course route, which will be entirely on our campus. The course will offer a dynamic mix of terrain, winding its way through our school grounds and creating a challenging yet exhilarating experience for participants. So, get ready to run, laugh, and get messy at the 5k Color Run.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING YOGA, ZUMBA, AND MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED! You can run or walk the Color Run, then continue the fun with a post-race cool-down activity. Choose your optional post-race add-on during registration.

NEW REGISTRATION OPTION: Are you not a morning person and want to join us later for the post-race activities? Or do you just want to cheer on your KSDS family? Can't make it but want to support the event? The Race Supporter option is for you! You can arrive early and cheer on our runners, arrive later for the post-race festivities, or if you can't make it, register for this option to still support our cause and event.

We can't do it without your help - During the registration process, you can create your own fundraiser or donate to Krieger Schechter Day School. Please consider an additional contribution to help raise the critical funds needed to ensure a Krieger Schechter education is possible for all who wish to be part of our community.

VIRTUAL OPTION

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are not local or cannot attend the in-person race.  Here's how the virtual race works:

1. Register for the virtual event and sign up for text or e-mail notifications.
2. Your race swag will be available for pickup at our pre-race packet pickup sessions (see below) or can be mailed to you (for an additional fee).
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt-in) when the virtual race "starts" on June 2nd.
4. Run your race and submit your results by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by June 4th). Results update in real-time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and share it through the runsignup.com photo page or download your photo(s) when you report your results.

*Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards, but we'll certainly acknowledge the winners in our post-race communication.

PACKET PICK-UP AT KSDS

We will share dates and times for you to pick up your packet of materials in preparation for the race as we get closer to the event date.
*To ensure the day of the race goes as smoothly as possible, we highly recommend that you pick up your packet at one of the pre-race packet pick-up times. We will have limited availability for packet pick-up on Race Day (onsite).

TIMELINE OF RACE DAY

Day-of Packet Pick-up begins at 8 a.m.
5K Color Run Start Time 9 a.m.
1 Mile Color Fun Run 9:05 a.m. (1 Mile Fun Run begins shortly after the 5K)
Post-Race Festival 9:30 a.m.

AWARDS

The Awards Ceremony will take place during the post-race celebration following the race. 

Awards will be given to the top finisher in each KSDS grade level (K-8). We will also announce winners for the top finisher in the following categories: Faculty, Alumni, and Adults (18 years or older).

Please note: Awards are offered for the in-person event only. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

– Parking is available on-site.

– Children under 10 must run/walk with an adult

– All runners registered by Wednesday, May 1st will receive a t-shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed after this date.

– For the safety of our runners, the 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run is closed to bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, and pets. Strollers may be used.

– Water stop and mile markers will be placed throughout the course.
