Details from event's RunSignUp.com listing:
Erie, along with our entire nation, is facing a crisis. Thousands in our community are experiencing substance use disorders (SUD) as well as co-occurring conditions. That’s our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, children and friends who have a real need for treatment that can help and save their lives.
Committed to raising awareness, combatting stigma, and honoring all individuals living empowered lives in recovery from SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders, Gaudenzia's Race for Recovery raises funds to support continued treatment for individuals at any level of care, regardless of their ability to pay. With a 5K Run/Walk and a 1K Run/Walk, as well as a virtual race component, there's an option that meets everyone's needs.
Now in its 25th year, Gaudenzia's Race for Recovery annually pulls together hundreds from the Erie community dedicated to supporting treatment while celebrating long-term recovery.
For the love of all that is good and moisture wicking...
