Race director Tom Carr is pleased to announce the 12th Annual Got Grit? 5k and One-Mile Fun Run to be held on May 27th at Orange High School in Hillsborough. This is an event for the whole family. There is the 5k race, fun run, and even a Toddler Trot. Walkers are welcome and there is a virtual option. Great awards and fantastic post race refreshments will be available for participants. In the past, Tom made sure proceeds from the races went for helping youth. Proceeds went to Ronald McDonald House, Duke Pediatric ICU, scholarships, grit awards, summer camps, and youth sports. But this year proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Association. Tom's wife had been coping with this terrible disease for the past few years. Let's hope that the monies made from the race will help researchers in their search for a cure for Alzheimer's.
