Due to the forecasted weather for the weekend, we are disappointed to change the plans for the Seagull Run. The 5K run will now be a virtual event. The 1 Mile run is going to be rescheduled for Friday, October 21st from 5-7:30 pm at Princess Anne Elementary.

UPDATE DETAILS: (Updates are listed below in orange)

5K registrants have the choice to run the race as a virtual event OR to switch their registration to the 1 Mile race. Please respond to paepta@gmail.com by Tuesday, Oct 4th if you want to switch to the 1 Mile Race. If we don’t hear from you by Tuesday, Oct 4th , we will assume you are running the event virtually. All 5K race packets (shirt/medal) must be picked up from the date provided in the email sent directly to race registrants between 9am-6pm Wednesday, Oct 5th – Saturday, October 8th.

1 Mile – The 1 Mile starts at 5:30pm on Friday, Oct 21st! The course is two laps around the school, playground, both baseball fields, starting and finishing at the front of PAES. We will have the course marked very well with course marshals at critical turns. Please note this course is on grass and paved areas.

POST-RACE FAMILY EVENT: After the 1 Mile race is complete, please join us for an evening of family fun with yard games, post-race snacks, and face painting. All race winners will be announced at the DJ booth after the race.

Seagull Run Original Information:

Community members, students, families, and businesses welcome.

Princess Anne Elementary PTA is hosting the FIRST ANNUAL Seagull 5K Run and 1 Mile Run to help raise funds for educational materials and activities for all PAES students. Each year our school relies on holding fundraisers to help pay for the many excellent educational opportunities that we offer to the student body. Help support our Pre-K through 5th grade students, and give them a great opportunity to succeed this school year. Community members, students, families, and businesses are welcome!

This is a 5K Run on a flat surface starting at Princess Anne Middle School, running through the Foxfire neighborhood area, and ending at Princess Anne Middle School. We also have a 1 Mile Run which will be held in the fields at Princess Anne Elementary School followed by a fun family post-race event!

CAN'T MAKE IT TO THE EVENT? Simply donate by supporting a student team, and help support their fundraising efforts!

ENTRY FEE:

• 5K:
  • $30 until September 16, 2022
  • $35 until September 30, 2022
  • $40 day of event registration
  • Includes shirt, race bib, and medal. (The first 300 runners to register for the 5K or 1 Mile run will get a race shirt!)
• 1 MILE:
  • $15 until October 20, 2022
  • $20 day of event registration
  • Adults & kids are welcome to run the 1 mile race. 
  • Includes shirt, race bib, and medal. (The first 300 runners to register for the 5K or 1 Mile run will get a race shirt! Sizes may be limited for anyone who signed up after October 4.)
  • ** The PAES PTA has scholarships available for eligible PAES students to participate in the 1 Mile. Please reach out to Ms. Wise, School Guidance Counselor for assistance.

MEDALS:

• 5K:
  • Top 3 overall female and male finishers in the following categories: Overall, 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & up.
• 1 MILE:
  • Medals for top 3 finishers in 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, Kindergarten, and Family Corral.

TEAM COMPETITION: Join a student team to run or donate to support the student's fundraising efforts for PAES.

STUDENT FUNDRAISING COMPETITION: 

• Individual Team Winners: Student teams who raise the most money for the school will receive a prize!
  
  • Create a Team: Teams can be formed by student first and last name. You can create your team for the race on run signup. Please create teams with the student first name and last name. 
  • Support Student Fundraising: You can join a student team for the run or simply donate to support a student's fundraising efforts for PAES. This is a great opportunity to allow family and friends out of town to help support the school. You can select the team when registering for the race on run signup.
• Class Winners: The top 3 classes with the most students registered will receive a class popsicle party.

AMENITIES & POST-RACE FESTIVITIES: All runners will receive a finishers medal. Don’t miss the Post-Race Family Event with fun activities, snow cones, and music at Princess Anne ELEMENTARY school. Pizza and salad will be available for purchase after the 1 Mile Run at Princess Anne Elementary.

PARKING:

• UPDATE: Please park in the Princess Anne Elementary parking lot. Overflow will be in the Princess Anne Middle School parking lot. Vehicles may not move in the PAES parking lot while there are runners on the race.

PAES STUDENTS:

• Running the race? Please join your class team in order for your race registration show up for your class numbers.  
  • When registering, please make sure to select your teacher's class team or go to Join Your Class Team to register a PAES student.
• Raising money for PAES? Please select Become a Fundraiser
  • Enter your information.
  • Then select your teacher under Join A Team Fundraiser.
  • You do not have to register for the race to become a fundraiser.
  • Please do not donate money to support a PAES student under "Donate" if you are a PAES student. You must do it under "Fundraiser" in order to select your class team.
