Description of race: This race is a 12hr relay race that starts at 12noon on Saturday and ends Saturday night at midnight. The relay race takes place on the grassy rolling hills of the Octorara cross country course. Each loop is 2 miles.
Race Director: This race is host by the Octorara Cross Country/Track and Field Boosters. All proceeds will go to the athletes. For any questions please email Lejohnso5@gmail.com.
Price:
- Until May 1st-Cost is $25.00 per person and includes a t-shirt.
- After May 1st-Cost is $30.00 per person and Includes a t-shirt
- After July 1st-Cost is $30.00 per person does not include a T-shirt. However they will be available for purchase day of.
- Registration closes on the July 12th. However, there will be day of registration.
Teams: Teams can be co-ed, all male or all female and can be ran as 1, 2, 4 or 6 person team.
Registration: The team members do not have to register at the same time. However, you must have a minimal number of runners on each team (1, 2, 4, or 6).
Once you have clicked on "sign up", and have registered and signed the waiver, you will be taken to the team page
You will EITHER create a team OR Join an existing team
If you are the first to register on your team you will need to create a team (pick team type (1, 2, 4, 6) and then a team name and password(not required)
If you already have a team click on "join existing" type in your team name and join that teamRules: Runners must:
- go in the same order
- stay on course
- wear headlamps at dusk til the end of the race(you will be required to show that there is at least one headlamp for each team)
- hand off the "item" given to the next runner before the teammate can leave the start. This ensures only one teammate on the course at a time.
- show respect for the school property (leave it better than you found it)
- after 10 pm we ask that the noise volume be kept at a minimum.
Other Rules:
- lap count ends at midnight, only full laps count
- between laps runners are free to rest, eat or do whatever they would like (welcome to bring tents, canopies....)
Aid/Water Station: Unmanned first aid station however, there will always be BLS- certified personnel present. The water station will be self-serve with light nutrition.
Awards: Awards are given to the top team with the most laps in each running group (1,2,4 and 6)
Food:Please come prepared with nutrition. We are working on food trucks.
DAY OF REGISTRATION OPENS AT 10AM
