We are incredibly honored to team up with Operation Underground Railroad for this beautiful 5K trail race! All ages and fitness levels welcome! April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month AND National Month of Hope. Children and youth who are sexually trafficked often have been victims of child abuse. Rucking Division
In addition to a running division, we offer a rucking division. Rucking is walking with a weighted backpack/ruck on your back.
If competing for the top 1-3 places for male, female and non-binary, you must meet the minimum dry weight requirement inside your backpack/ruck before anything else, including food and water. We recommend a ruck plate of some sort but it's ultimately up to you. Other options for weight include dumbbells, sandbags, or weight plates. Weight vests and ruck plate carriers are allowed.
- Men and Non-Binary Adults - 30 pounds
- Women - 20 pounds
- Kids - 10 pounds (Ages 8-17); 5 pounds (under 8)
If not competing for the top 1-3 places, then the weight you carry is up to you.
Course
The course runs mostly in Dimple Dell Regional Park. Most of the trail is dirt or wood chips while small portions that are used are paved. The race is professionally chip timed. The chips are attached to the back of your bib number. Bibs must be worn on the front of you in order to be accurately timed.
5K Route with a water station at 0.73 miles and 1.77 miles. There are bathrooms at the start and finish line.
Dogs
Leashed dogs are OK for this race but they must stay on a leash the entire time.
Packet Pickup
- There are two opportunities to pick up your packet. Either option is fine!
