This will be the second year for the Trailfest for MS race series presented by OZ Outdoor Foundation, organized by the Rampy MS Research Foundation.  The Rampy MS Research Foundation is a local non profit that funds the best multiple sclerosis research in the United Stated through a variety of endurance sports.  Currently the medical research doctor recipient network is made up from the University of Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and University of California at San Francisco.  This race series will help to establish a new research doctor award that will target research for the prevention and early detection of multiple sclerosis in young patients.   

This year will consist of two races in the series, featuring the best courses from last year, Blowing Springs Back Forty in Bella Vista, AR and Coler Mountain Preserve for the championship in Bentonville, AR.  The Back Forty event will be Oct. 29 and Coler Mountain preserve will be Dec. 3.  Both races will start at 9AM to welcome in the daylight.  The race format will consist of a Bike, Run and Bike duathlon, 9 mile bike, 3.1 mile run and final 9 mile bike to the finish line.  This will be known as the long course.  We will encourage both individual and relay participation, consisting of 3 people.  We will offer a novice, beginner division that will be 9 mile bike and 3.1 mile run to the finish line.  No awards will be presented in the novice, beginner division, known as the short course. 

The long course will consist of overall male and female top 3 in each gender with the following prize purse.  Bonus for fastest bike and run loop for both male and female.  

Blowing Springs Back Forty:  1st $250, 2nd $125 and 3rd $75 = $450 / Faster Bike Loop $125 / Fastest Run Loop $75

Coler Mountain Preserve:  1st $500, 2nd $250 and 3rd $150 = $900 / Fastest Bike Loop $250 / Fastest Run Loop $150
