The H ½ was created to honor our military, to thank them and let them know that their sacrifices are not unnoticed or taken for granted.

This course is extremely tough – to represent the efforts that our military make for us every day and often far away from their loved ones.

This race does not offer prize money. This is a bare bones race for those with the determination, grit and wherewithal to get it done; to run those 13.1 miles for your own satisfaction and to keep in the public eye the extreme nature of what it means to serve our Country. No frills, just sweat. You’ll dig deep for this course.

HH does not offer participant medals/awards. The reward is knowing that you achieved the satisfaction of completing this very challenging course. HH prefers to give more money to our veterans rather than purchasing finishing medals.

All proceeds after race expenses are put in a fund for any military person or family in our general locality that needs a helping hand. Funds are only distributed through the Hillacious Half; no monies are paid to any agencies.

Both the male and female 1st place finisher will have their names engraved on the perpetual trophies that will remain housed in our Morgan-Weir American Legion Post 27 here in Litchfield.

For an additional $10.00, the H ½  also allows for participants to purchase a dog tag engraved with the name of someone serving in our armed forces currently stationed in a war zone, or a veteran close to you – a father, sister, grandfather.

By wearing a dog tag, you bring that person “with you” on the course. It may just be the motivation to get you up that hill. You keep the dog tag as an honorarium; an achievement you can be proud of.

Thank you for your interest in this race. And thank a veteran for preserving our way of life.

RACE BEGINS AND ENDS AT MORGAN-WEIR AMERICAN LEGION POST 27, 400 BANTAM ROAD, LITCHFIELD, CT. 10:00 A.M. START.

ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY

Day of Registration Available beginning at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee for day of registration is $60.00

HILLACIOUS HALF DOG TAGS!

By wearing a dog tag, you bring that person “with you” during the race. It may just be the motivation to get you up that hill. You keep the dog tag as an honorarium; an achievement you can be proud of.

For an additional $10, the Hillacious Half allows participants to purchase a dog tag engraved with the name of someone serving or who has served in our armed forces, perhaps currently stationed in a war zone, or a veteran close to you – a father, sister, grandfather. Dog tags are available for runners @ $10.00 each.

Supporters of the race can purchase dog tags for $20.00. All dog tags are engraved with your veteran's name and any other info you would like that we can fit onto the tag. Runner's can sign up for a tag through the registration process; non-runners can contact us (scroll down) to order.

PROCEEDS: All proceeds after race expenses are kept  in a fund for any military person or family in our general locality that needs a helping hand. Funds are only distributed through the H½; no monies are paid to any state or federal agencies.

Over the past years, HH has donated funds for homeless veterans in our area, and one on one for those who Veterans who need a helping hand. And through your generous food and coat donations, we are able to help local food pantries and shelters.

4 MILE WALK! - WALK!! Hillacious Half WALK for those people who want to participate but are not runners. The walk will follow the same course but loop back for a 4 mile trek. This will NOT be a timed event and all the walkers will get all the other amenities our runners get — including a beer at the end! And in keeping with our tradition, this is a hilly course. Walk begins after all runners have started; approximately 10:05 a.m.

RELAY!!  --RELAY! Those who can handle 6 but not 13 hilly miles! Relay teams will have 2 runners. The timing and awards will be designated separately but we'll be celebrating at the post race party together at the end!

Dog tags!! -  Want a dog tag? Can't run a step? Non runners can now purchase dog tags (non runner cost for a dog tag is $20.00) -- These tags are available now as so many folks were interested in honoring a loved one through the race.

WALL OF HONOR!! This wall showcases veterans, whose service means so much. We will accept any 8 x 10 photo, bio, any written tribute with or without a photo that you would like to share on our wall. Just another way to say "Thank You" and to honor our military. The Wall of Honor will be on display at our Friday night Expo and on race day. Contact us for more info; sleeves are $5.00 each.

TIME LIMIT!!! HH has a 3 hour time limit. If you can’t finish the course within that time, we suggest that you do not register. If you want to participate and support the cause, consider making a donation, run the relay or walk the 4 mile loop.

Please contact the Hillacious Half for any questions or comments. We'd love to hear from you! Scroll down for email info!
