RunSBY Events (Salisbury Marathon/Salisbury Half Marathon/5k)

We are back for YEAR 6 of the RunSBY Events. Come celebrate with us on Saturday, April 6th, 2024!  Join us in 2024 for a flat and FAST marathon and half marathon course!  Our BQ percentage is tremendous, so this could be your chance to qualify for a major!!

Our Marathon and Half Marathon courses share the same course for the first 10.8 miles before splitting off to finish out their courses. All marathon runners can even use this point as a bail-out, if they like, to complete the half marathon. 

Our courses have a 16 min/mile pace requirement, so our MARATHON must be completed in 7 hours and our HALF MARATHON must be completed in 3 1/2 hours.

We are excited for this upcoming weekend and are VERY excited about a potentially dryer weekend (than last year). We just wanted to go over some of those last minute details, and let you know about our ASK THE RACE DIRECTOR Facebook Live TOMORROW (Thursday Night) at 6pm EST. In Person Packet Pickup is on Thursday and Friday at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center (500 Glen Avenue, Salisbury). They have moved the room that we are in, so the easiest way to get to us will be to park in the very nice lot on Glen Avenue, and walk directly across the street to the Flanders Room
 
Packet Pickup is on: THURSDAY from 5pm to 8pm and FRIDAY from 2pm to 8pm. THERE IS NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP

 
Next up... THE APP!!!

This year we have some options for you to look at. The Rev3 App (located on the Google Store and Apple) is your go to app, and will give you estimated finish times and approximate tracking for your athlete. This is one of the best ways to be tracked by your friends. The app will NOT be updated with bib numbers until Friday after 8pm, but they can search for you by name. 

The OTHER app is called RaceJoy. RaceJoy is a GPS based app, but that GPS is YOUR phone. You must activate the app, and start it at the beginning of the event. At that time, your "people" can follow you step-by-step throughout your entire journey. If you have a good battery on your phone, this might not be a bad option. Race Morning

Be sure to check out the Athlete Guide on where to park and how to get over to your Start/Finish line. Keep in mind that the Marathon/Half Marathon line is about 1/2 miles away (and easy warmup) but that puts you right next to the finish line (and your car) when you finish up. 

We will have staff at the start line starting at 530 am and, after you use the bathroom down by the portojohns, if you don't have your morning clothes bag already (we're looking at your BIB MAILING FOLKS) then be sure to walk towards the start line where you will meet our team, who will have bags for you to use. We ask that when you are ready, you place your small, clear bag inside of the APPROPRIATELY NUMBERED large, white bag, so that we can take it over to the finish area for you.

We will start the Marathon/Half Marathon PC athletes at 7am, and the rest of the group at 7:05. Don't be late!!!

For our 5k friends. You will park at the garage near the finish line as well. You won't have any type of morning clothes bag drop because, well, you are about 200 feet from your car. We will open that area up around 6am and kick off the PC Athletes at 730am and the rest of you at 735am. 

Bib Mailings - What you need to know

You were missing two things from your bib mailings. 

1) If you are a Marathon or Half marathoner, you will need a morning clothes bag, supplied by us, over near the start line. You will pick that up, put a label on it with your number, and place it in the appropriate bag so that we can take it over to the finish line (and sort it) for you. 

2) A beer bracelet. If you are 21 (yes, we have to check your ID) and want to partake in your two complimentary beers from our friends at Big Truck Brewing, we're gonna need to see some ID. Best thing to do is throw it in your morning clothes bag, so that you can show it to our servers, from the Salisbury Jaycees.

Awards at 8:30 (5k), 10:00 (Half Marathon), 1130 (Marathon) 

Don't forget our Ruck Division is hauling in some food to donate at the finish line AND if you've got some shoes you don't want any more, we will be taking donations at both packet pickup AND at the finish line (no one will judge if you say you are never running again and take off your shoes right there... it's for charity anyways ;) )
