PRESERVING A LEGACY
Join us as the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity’s Boston Chapter hosts the fifth annual Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K run/walk along the Charles River in Boston in remembrance of our brother and friend Ryan Scott Shaw. Ryan passed away at the age of 18 on May 9th, 2016 shortly after being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. The Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K run/walk aims to preserve Ryan's legacy through this memorial event.
All proceeds from the Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K Run benefit The Ryan Shaw Foundation, a nonprofit foundation established by the Shaw Family to give back to the communities and organizations that had an impact in Ryan's life. This year, The Ryan Shaw Foundation will benefit three organizations: (1) Mustard Seed Communities, (2) The Haven Project, and (3) the Ryan Shaw '15 Entrepreneurial Education Program at St. John's Prep.

How You Can Contribute to the Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K Run/Walk...

1. Register to participate in the Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K run/walk. Participants who register by October 17, 2023 will receive a complimentary event t-shirt (late registration shirts will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis on race day). Online registrations close Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 at 11:59 PM. We welcome participants of all ages and abilities to take part in the race. Run, jog, or walk with us!

2. Sponsor the Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K. Your company or organization may donate funds and/or in-kind items to the event to help offset the costs associated with event set up, race day equipment, and administrative expenses. All net proceeds will support The Ryan Shaw Foundation. To learn more about how you can become a sponsor of the event, please see our official Sponsorship Guide.

3. Donate directly to The Ryan Shaw Foundation. If you prefer not to participate in the race or become a sponsor of the event, but would still like to make a contribution, we encourage you to make a donation in support of The Ryan Shaw Foundation.
