5515DECKERS CREEK TRAIL HALF-MARATHON / TRAIL MIX FESTIVAL
CANCELLED FOR 2023

We are incredibly saddened to announce that MRTC will not be hosting the The Deckers Creek Trail Half-Marathon in 2023, which has long been a part of MRTC and the running community of greater Morgantown. With the rising and new costs for having this event combined with a trend of decreasing numbers of runners, this race is no longer an effective fundraiser for maintaining the Mon River Rail-Trails. We hope that we will be able to return to hosting this beloved race, but the cost considerations, strained community resources, and time involved to organize have factored into our decision to cancel the race for 2023. Securing a premiere sponsor would help us bring back this race in 2024. We welcome any help finding one. Contact Ella at ella@montrails.org

THE RACE COURSE

The Deckers Creek Trail Half-Marathon is entirely held on the Deckers Creek Trail from Masontown to Morgantown.  It involves several road crossings and will have seven water stops along the way.  This race has a two-surface course of compacted stone and asphalt.
