Join us for the 5th year of Hotter Than July 1/4 & 1/2 Marathon to be run on the amazingly runnable Waverly Park Trail System! Choose from a 1 lap 1/4 marathon (6.55 miles) or a 2 lap half marathon option through these wonderfully underrated trails. Runners will receive a race shirt, great finishers medal (both races) overall and age group awards, professional chip timing, free race photos, and a beautiful course on beginner-friendly trails.
Cutoff Time is 3 hours 30 minutes from 8 AM. The Finish line will close at 11:30 AM to begin packing up equipment.

Quarter Marathon Starts 7am Half Marathon at 7:15 amThis event is CUPLESS. Please bring your own water bottle, hydration pack, or cup. The race is called Hotter Than July so expect the heat. Keep an eye out for anyone that is struggling. Help your fellow runners in need.
Stay adequately hydrated (obviously) and be aware of heat related illness symptoms such as dizziness, heart palpitations and nausea.Course Description
The course is the same as previous years. The Start/Finish line will be at the large rocks next to the main parking lot. We will run toward the fishing pond to the trail head.
Garmin Activity: LINKPacket Pick-Up
Packet pick-up will be on-site at the Pavilion prior to race start. Please plan to pick-up your race packet with enough time to allow for pinning your bib and dropping off your shirt before race start. Volunteers should be available around 6:15am.Parking--ARRIVE EARLY & CARPOOL
We ask that you plan to arrive early for parking. The course will cross the main park road and finish just next to the main parking lot. If you are arriving late, please enter the park slowly and with caution. Carpool as much as possible. Parking is limited at Waverly. We want to be respectful of the parks so we are able to have many more great events in the future. Carpooling is preferred to make space for everyone planning to participate. If you are planning to run with a friend, we encourage carpooling.
Water/Snacks
This event is CUPLESS. Please bring your own water bottle, hydration pack, or cup. Bottled Water will be available in limited supply. Water and pre packaged snacks will be available post race. There will be an aid station located at mile 6 (finish line). 1/2 marathon runners will pass through the aid station. We will have an EMT on site. However if you are on the trail and you or another runner encounter serious trouble, do not hesitate to call 911.Aid Stations will be located at 6.5 (1:45 cutoff for the half). They will feature typical aid station support. This is a cupless event and runners will be expected to carry at least 12 oz of fluids for the half marathon.
